[BREAKING] Mohbad: Police Speaks On ‘Naira Marley, Sam Larry Arrest’
The Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) of the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2, Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos, has refuted claims of the arrest of music promoter, Samson Balogun, popularly known as Sam Larry, and musician, Azeez Fashola, widely recognized as Naira Marley, in connection with the demise of their colleague, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as MohBad.
Oluniyi Ogundeyi, the spokesperson for the Federal Criminal Investigation Department in Lagos, clarified in an interview with journalists that the report is unfounded.

“The report is false; it is a lie; no one has been arrested. The police did not arrest Naira Marley or Sam Larry.”
The 27-year-old singer passed away on Tuesday, September 11, in Lagos. Despite controversies surrounding his passing, it was recalled that MohBad had lodged a complaint with the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Alagbon, Lagos, on June 27, 2023, where he alleged threats to his life.
Naira Marley, MohBad’s former boss, was purportedly involved in inciting Sam Larry and others on multiple occasions to intimidate and harm the deceased for leaving Marlians Records.
Sam Larry and Naira Marley faced public criticism after a video surfaced, depicting Sam Larry and several others harassing MohBad. In the video, the late 27-year-old singer and Zlatan Ibile were on set for a music video when Sam Larry arrived at the scene with a group of individuals, singling out MohBad, who hastily retreated in fear.
In light of accusations of bullying and threats against the deceased singer, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), in a statement released on Thursday by Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, ordered an investigation into the death of MohBad.
While the investigation into MohBad’s passing is ongoing, the Lagos State Police Command has indicated the possibility of exhuming the late singer’s body for an autopsy. This information was shared by the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, during an Instagram live session with media personality, Daddy Freeze, on Thursday night.
“The Force PRO issued a statement this evening (Thursday) saying that investigation will commence and that’s what we’re going to do.
“If need be, the body will be exhumed. It’s not too late. The body can be exhumed and autopsy can be performed.
“The statement also states that people should bring whatever information they have to the commissioner of police in Lagos State. That’s because we don’t want to do hierarchy anymore. Take it to Force CID, bring it to Lagos Command. It doesn’t matter. We’re going to harmonise it within ourselves and ensure that justice is done”, said Hundeyin.
