Archaeologists Discover 2,000-Year-Old Child’s Shoe With Laces Intact
A child’s shoe, estimated to be over 2,000 years old, has been discovered in Austria with its laces still intact.
The leather shoe, roughly corresponding to a EU 30 (US 12) size, is believed to date back to the second century BC.

It was unearthed in the village of Dürrnberg, known for its early rock salt mining activities, which aided in preserving the shoe remarkably well.
Professor Thomas Stoellner, head of the Research Department at the German Mining Museum, praised the outstanding condition of the find.
This discovery provides valuable insights into the lives of Iron Age miners.
