Happening Now:  VP Shettima Chairs NEC Meeting, Raising Hopes For Economic Relief(Video)

In a meeting now taking place at the State House, Vice President Kashim Shettima has assumed leadership of the National Economic Council (NEC). The NEC, a key governmental body, is a collaboration between the federal government and the governors of the federation’s 36 states.

The NEC assumes a vital role in supporting the President in both crafting and executing policies aimed at realizing the nation’s economic objectives. It stands as a bridge between the central government and state leadership, fostering collaboration and alignment in the pursuit of economic progress.

Present at this crucial gathering are notable state governors, including those from Osun, Lagos, Kaduna, Adamawa, Rivers, Benue, Sokoto, Delta, Ebonyi, Taraba, Nasarawa, among others, as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister.

As this significant meeting progresses, Nigerians nationwide hold a collective sense of optimism. They anticipate that the National Economic Council will unveil policies and strategies geared towards alleviating the prevailing economic challenges as a result of the fuel subsidy removal.
