The assailants, armed with sophisticated weapons, reportedly entered the village on foot around 11:45 pm, leaving their motorcycles outside the town. Residents were subjected to indiscriminate gunfire, creating a climate of fear as the bandits moved through the community.

Ibrahim Sani, a local resident, recounted the ordeal, highlighting the large number of armed bandits and their systematic search for food items and valuables in homes. Tragically, they encountered the newly married couple and forcibly took them into the forest.

Sani expressed frustration over the lack of security presence in the village, emphasizing the urgent need for authorities to deploy personnel to safeguard the lives and property of residents. He warned of potential mass relocation if prompt action is not taken.

“They stole a large number of animals, food items, and other valuables. In the process of going round the village, they came across a newly married couple and took them to the forest,” Sani revealed.

As of now, the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar, has not provided a statement on the incident, leaving the community in distress over the security situation.
