Lookman, who earned the Man of the Match accolade for his standout display against Cameroon, emphasized the team’s growing effectiveness as they play more matches together.
Having started the AFCON tournament with a draw against Equatorial Guinea, the Super Eagles silenced critics with triumphs over Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau. Lookman, a standout player in Nigeria’s journey, sees the collective effort as key to the team’s success.
In an interview with CAF media, Lookman commented on the impending clash with Angola, stating, “Angola is a good team. We’ll analyze them and prepare. The further you go, the tougher it gets, so we’ll take it game by game.”
Expressing joy over the team’s qualification for the quarter-finals, Lookman highlighted the growing cohesion within the squad: “The more we play together, the more fluid we become. I’m standing here now, but this award reflects the whole team’s performance.”
