Jim Iyke Reveals Why He Didn’t Intervene After Son Was Bullied
Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has sparked discussion with his views on parenting, fatherhood and the role of fathers in raising boys.
Speaking during an appearance on the Lahor Podcast, the actor stressed the importance of a father’s presence in the development of boys into responsible and well-rounded men.
According to Ireporter Online, Jim Iyke argued that raising a boy requires more than the efforts of a single parent, particularly when it comes to the lessons and experiences he believes fathers can provide during a child’s formative years.
The actor also recounted an incident involving his son during a visit to a beach in France. Jim Iyke said his son was bullied by a group of children and later approached him to complain about what had happened.
Rather than stepping in to confront the other children or immediately resolve the situation, the actor said he deliberately allowed his son to deal with the incident himself.
According to Jim Iyke, his son eventually returned to confront the children and successfully retrieved his ball after a physical confrontation.
The actor explained that he viewed the experience as part of the process through which boys learn to deal with challenges, stand up for themselves and develop independence.
His comments, particularly his decision not to intervene when his son reported the bullying, have generated mixed reactions, with discussions emerging online about different approaches to parenting boys and the responsibilities of fathers.
