Details unveiled in the EFCC document titled ‘Operations and Recoveries’ show a robust effort in tackling financial crimes, as the commission retrieved N60,969,047,634.25, $10,522,778.57, £150,002.10, and €4,119.90, culminating in the remarkable sum recovered during the specified period.

During this time frame, the EFCC handled a total of 3,325 petitions, accepting 2,657 and securing convictions for 747 individuals involved in financial crimes, ranging from money laundering to internet fraud.

Breaking down the recovered amounts, the EFCC headquarters led the charge with N49,607,391,330.44, $3,900,200.75, £2000, and £110. The document further highlights significant recoveries by various zonal commands, including impressive figures from Maiduguri, Gombe, Kano, Makurdi, Enugu, Uyo, Port Harcourt, Sokoto, Kaduna, Ilorin, Abuja, Ibadan, Lagos, and Benin.

Notably, the Lagos Zonal Command spearheaded by the EFCC reclaimed a whopping N6,826,993,798.78, $868,284.61, £147,672.10, and €1899.90 during this period.

Meanwhile, the EFCC, under the leadership of Chairman Ola Olukoyede, showcased its dedication to combating cybercrimes, securing a significant portion of the 747 convictions within this domain. At an enlightening event in Abuja, themed ‘Dialogue on Youth, Religion, and the Fight against Corruption,’ Olukoyede also launched the Fraud Risk Assessment Project for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, underlining the commission’s commitment to eradicating corruption across various sectors.
