Tinubu acknowledged the commitment of President Bola Tinubu to the fight against TB, aligning with national goals and the Political Declaration adopted at the United Nations High-Level Meeting in September 2023. She urged wives of state governors, whom she decorated as TB Champions for their respective states, to intensify awareness efforts to minimize the prevalence of the treatable disease.

Addressing the TB Champions, Tinubu stressed the importance of their role in amplifying awareness, reducing stigma, and facilitating access to treatment and support for TB patients in their states. As a demonstration of her commitment, she pledged a donation of N1 billion through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) to support the cause.

Tinubu dedicated her investiture to individuals, including her staff member Daniel, who lost their lives to TB, emphasizing the need to end stigma and discrimination associated with the disease. She called for collective action and compassion to combat TB effectively.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Mohammed Ali Pate, highlighted the success achieved in the fight against TB, attributing it to the collective efforts of all Nigerians and the strong political will demonstrated by the Tinubu administration. He emphasized the importance of sustaining these efforts.
