In a statement from her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady made these remarks at the National Hospital in Abuja on Monday during the welcome ceremony for the first baby of the year 2024 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

She urged compassionate individuals in Nigeria to collaborate with the government in adopting hospitals and wards to enhance healthcare delivery, emphasizing that the government alone cannot achieve this.

Mrs. Tinubu encouraged nursing mothers to provide proper care for their babies, including timely immunization, practicing exclusive breastfeeding, and offering nutritious weaning food for optimal brain development.

Additionally, she appealed to expectant mothers to prioritize antenatal and postnatal care, maintain basic hygiene at home, manage the spacing of births, register their babies with the National Population Commission (NPC), and enroll them in school at the appropriate age.
