According to information obtained from a police source by Punch, the unfortunate incident occurred on Friday while the boys, along with others, were engaged in a football game in the Powerline area of Ejigbo.

The source revealed that an argument broke out between Israel and Ezekiel during the match, leading to a confrontation. In the heat of the moment, Israel allegedly grabbed Ezekiel by the neck and strangled him until he lost consciousness and stopped breathing.

Following the incident, Ezekiel was hurried to the General Hospital in Isolo, where medical personnel confirmed his demise.

The police swiftly responded to a report received at the Ejigbo Division, and detectives visited the scene to gather evidence. The deceased’s body was photographed, and subsequently, it was transported to the General Hospital in Isolo for further examination, where a doctor officially pronounced him dead.

Confirming the unfortunate occurrence, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the body of the deceased has been moved to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. Additionally, the suspect, Israel, is currently in police custody, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
