In an interview with NBC, Trump stated, “We’re going to have to get it changed. We may need to go back to the people, but this has to end.” His comments reflect his ongoing stance on stricter immigration policies.

Trump also discussed his plans to collaborate with Democrats on policies that support “Dreamers”—young undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children. He highlighted his willingness to engage on this issue despite his hardline stance on other immigration matters.

The president-elect went on to promise swift action upon taking office, including granting pardons to those convicted for their involvement in the 2021 U.S. Capitol riot. Trump criticized the conditions faced by those incarcerated, describing them as “filthy” and “disgusting.” He vowed to act quickly on his first day in office, stating, “These people are living in hell.”
