Speaking during an interview with Al Jazeera, Musa highlighted the challenges Nigeria faces in tracing and tracking the source of these funds. He urged the United Nations to intervene, emphasizing the apparent international support enabling the insurgents to sustain operations for over 15 years.

Musa further stated, “When they started surrendering, over 120,000 have come forward. Many of them have hard currency. How did they get it? How are they funded? These are questions the international community must answer.”

The CDS also hinted at a possible international conspiracy behind the prolonged insurgency and called for an investigation into the flow of funds used to finance training, weapons, and equipment for these groups.

In related news, Musa revealed that the military is closing in on notorious bandit leader Bello Turji, stating that efforts are ongoing to apprehend him despite his attempts to operate underground.
