During an interview on ireporteronline The Morning Show on January 8, 2025, Morka called on law enforcement agencies to investigate Obi’s claims.

Obi had alleged that his New Year message led to threats against his life and family. However, Morka, in a previous statement, remarked that “Obi has crossed the line so many times…whatever he has coming to him, he should manage it.”

Morka clarified that his comments were in response to questions about Obi being labeled a “voodoo economist” and a “prophet of doom.”

“If Peter Obi was called a prophet of doom or a voodoo economist, he has it coming to him because he has crossed several lines of truth. There’s nothing in my words that suggests threats,” Morka said.

He further stated, “He who alleges must prove. If Peter Obi claims he has been threatened, he must provide evidence. For someone of his stature, he should supply credible proof of those behind the threats. If true, law enforcement should investigate, and we shouldn’t be discussing this in a TV studio.”
