Additionally, N713.5 million worth of contracts have been granted for cross drainage works to G Artist Engineering Ltd, Salisbury Nig. Ltd., and Seamarks Construction and Civil Engineering. These projects are part of the state’s broader rural infrastructure initiative aimed at improving connectivity and supporting agriculture.

During the signing ceremony in Lokoja on Friday, Kogi’s Project Coordinator, Mr. Sheidu Obansa, confirmed that the roads would be constructed by Philko Ltd., K-Class Multi-Global Engineering Construction Company, JV Ferotex Construction Ltd., Zarcus Construction Ltd., and NAEL and BIN HARMAL HYDRO EXPORT Nigeria Ltd. The contracts were awarded after a comprehensive bidding process.

The projects come as a direct result of Governor Ahmed Ododo’s timely payment of the state’s counterpart funding, which attracted World Bank and other donor agency support. Mr. Obansa urged contractors to maintain high standards and complete the projects on time.

Responding on behalf of the contractors, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim pledged full commitment to meeting the specified standards and ensuring the timely delivery of all roads and drainage works.

The Kogi State Government’s continued investment in rural infrastructure is set to boost the local economy and enhance the quality of life for residents.
