Historic Victory: Nigeria Shocks New Zealand To Claim First U-19 Women’s W’Cup Win

Nigeria’s Junior Female Yellow Greens finally made their mark at the 2025 ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Malaysia, securing a thrilling two-run victory over New Zealand in their delayed debut match on Monday.

Like their previous game against Samoa on Saturday, rain in Sarawak delayed the start. However, the Nigerian team was undeterred as the match kicked off more than two hours late with a reduced overs format.

New Zealand won the toss and opted to field first, sending Nigeria’s batters to the crease.
