NAF Airstrikes Neutralize Key Terrorists, Destroy Gun Trucks in Northeast Nigeria

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK), has conducted precision airstrikes on a terrorist stronghold north of Chiralia, a notorious hideout within the Timbuktu Triangle. The mission was launched based on actionable intelligence from ground forces tracking three terrorist gun trucks moving from Sabon Gari toward Chiralia. In response, the Air Component swiftly deployed fighter jets for an Air Interdiction (AI) mission.

Upon arrival at the target location, NAF pilots identified multiple terrorists and their vehicles concealed under trees.

“With precision and firepower, NAF aircraft engaged the targets, deploying rockets and cannons that destroyed two of the vehicles instantly. As the insurgents attempted to reposition the third gun truck, a follow-up strike was executed, eliminating it completely,” the statement read.

“The overwhelming firepower set all targeted vehicles ablaze, while several terrorists attempting to escape were neutralized in the aftermath,” Ali added.

This decisive operation underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to dismantling terrorist networks, restricting insurgent movement, and providing crucial air support to ground forces.

“With continued air superiority, the NAF remains resolute in its counterterrorism efforts, ensuring that insurgents find no refuge while reinforcing security and stability in the Northeast,” the statement concluded.
