Onanuga made the announcement via his official (formerly Twitter) account on Monday morning.

This comes amid growing public calls for Tinubu’s return due to the escalating security challenges across parts of the country. Responding to these concerns last Thursday, April 17, Onanuga had assured Nigerians that the President’s absence was temporary and aligned with the earlier stated plan for a two-week working visit.

He emphasized that despite being away, President Tinubu has remained actively engaged in governance — maintaining close communication with top government officials and issuing strategic directives, particularly to security agencies, to address emerging threats.
