Delta Politics Heats Up: APC Warns of Sanctions Against Oborevwori’s Opponents

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has officially recognized Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the leader of the party in the state, following his recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and their political allies.

In a statement released by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the APC emphasized that Oborevwori’s new leadership role aligns with the party’s long-standing principles and national structure.

“This designation is not open for debate. It reflects the APC’s established tradition of acknowledging serving governors as state leaders,” Onojeghuo stated.

The party cautioned that any attempt to contest Oborevwori’s leadership would be viewed as a deliberate provocation capable of causing unnecessary friction within the party.

“Such actions would only generate internal conflict and are entirely avoidable,” the statement added.

Furthermore, the APC warned that disciplinary measures would be taken against any member who falsely claims the position of state party leader.

“Anyone undermining this position by continuing to present themselves as the party leader will face strict sanctions,” Onojeghuo concluded.
