Nigerian singer Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, was involved in a serious car accident.

This was revealed by well-known UK-based music executive Adesope Olajide, aka ‘Shopsydoo,’ in a post on his Instagram page Saturday night.

The accident, which involved two of Omah Lay’s Tesla trucks, reportedly took place on Saturday in Lagos.

While details remain limited, Olajide confirmed that Omah Lay is safe.

Posting a video of the crash, he wrote: “#omahlay Tesla truck, thank God for life. Thank God he is safe, we’ll buy two more once that album drops. More stories to tell.”

In related news, on Friday, May 16, 2025, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) called Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, as its first prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of his elder brother, Jude Chigozie Okoye.

Jude Okoye, former manager of the now-defunct P-Square group, faces trial alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd., at the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja. They are charged with four counts related to the alleged theft of $1 million and £34,537 in music royalties.

EFCC counsel Mohammed Bashir led Mr P in giving evidence, explaining that he filed a petition on January 22, 2024, accusing financial misappropriation of royalty payments.

He revealed that while Northside Music Ltd. was initially named as the respondent, investigations showed that Jude’s wife, Ifeoma, owns 80% of the company, with Jude holding the remaining 20%.

Mr P added that both Jude and Paul were invited by the EFCC, but only Jude was detained.
