APC Vows to End APGA’s Grip on Anambra in November Polls
Top figures of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State have expressed confidence that the party will soon put an end to the longstanding dominance of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as the November 8 governorship election approaches.
The APC leaders called on the people of Anambra to remain hopeful and vigilant, urging them to prepare for a political transition from Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s APGA-led administration.
Among those who gave the assurances during a Thanksgiving Mass held in Onitsha for the party’s governorship candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, were APC State Chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike; Chairman of the APC Reconciliation Committee, Engr. John Bosco Onunkwo; National Coordinator of the Ikemba Front, Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu; and party stalwart, Chief Felix Unigwe.
They collectively criticized APGA’s performance over the years, accusing the party of failing to meet the expectations of Ndi Anambra. They stressed that the APC is poised to provide a renewed vision and governance model that will restore public confidence.
The leaders further alleged that APGA has consistently leveraged the legacy of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu to mislead voters, only to fall short of its promises once in power. This time, they said, APC is determined to break that cycle.
Chief Ejidike emphasized that the APC is ready to align Anambra with the national political mainstream due to what he described as the Soludo administration’s underperformance.
Engr. Onunkwo hailed the Ukachukwu-Ekwunife joint ticket as a formidable and united front capable of driving the APC to electoral victory.
Similarly, Hon. Awogu expressed optimism that the Ikemba Front would play a critical role in mobilizing support for the APC during the election.
Chief Unigwe, meanwhile, dismissed speculations that President Bola Tinubu endorsed Governor Soludo during his recent visit to Anambra, clarifying that the President merely referred to Soludo as a friend and thinker, not a preferred candidate.
