Minister Momoh Meets Rivers State Administrator, Admiral Ibas, On Ongoing NDDC Projects

PORT HARCOURT — As part of efforts to strengthen intergovernmental collaboration and ensure seamless project delivery in the Niger Delta, the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, on Thursday, paid a courtesy visit to the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Admiral Ibok‑Ete Ekwe Ibas (Rtd.), at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

The visit followed the Minister’s inspection of key infrastructure projects being executed by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) across Rivers State. These include the Kaa-Ataba Road and Bridge linking Khana and Andoni LGAs, the long-abandoned Okrika-Borikiri Bridge, and the world-class Niger Delta Regional Hospital in Port Harcourt.

Speaking during the visit, Engr. Momoh highlighted the significance of these projects in enhancing connectivity, boosting local commerce, and improving access to healthcare services across the region. He acknowledged the peaceful and stable environment in Rivers State, crediting Admiral Ibas for his leadership and commitment to good governance.

> “I commend Admiral Ibas for the atmosphere of peace that now reigns in Rivers State. It is this stability that allows us to execute meaningful projects that directly impact the lives of our people,” the Minister stated.

In response, Admiral Ibas expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for its renewed attention to the development of the Niger Delta. He assured the Minister of his administration’s full cooperation and support in facilitating the successful completion and sustainability of the projects.
