“Patrick Doyle Breaks Silence: ‘Ireti Has Not Brought Shame To My Name’”

According to Ireporter Online, veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has stated that he would rather stay silent than speak unfavourably about his ex-wife, actress Ireti Doyle. The former couple, who married in 2004 and formally ended their marriage in 2023, have continued to maintain a professional rapport, even appearing together in the 2023 thriller The Black Book.

During an interview on TVC’s Wake Up Nigeria, Patrick Doyle was asked to comment on his current relationship with Ireti. He explained that his personal convictions do not permit him to speak harshly about anyone, noting that he chooses silence whenever he has nothing positive to say.

Doyle expressed satisfaction that his surname has contributed positively to Ireti’s career, adding that she has upheld the integrity of the name. He said he is proud of her accomplishments in the film industry and hopes she continues on that path.

Reports also recall that the actor, earlier in June, suggested that Ireti’s continued use of his surname was tied to maintaining her public relevance in Nollywood. At the time, he noted that his long-standing reputation and body of work stand independently and cannot be defined by anyone, insisting that the Doyle name had been established long before her rise to fame.
