Strike: Moses Omo-Ikirodah Calls On Striking Doctors And FG To Consider Citizens Plight And Settle Their Differences.
Moses Omo-Ikirodah has passionately appealed to the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) and the Federal Government to put behind their differences and end the ongoing strike.
The resident doctors had embarked on an indefinite strike which started on August 2 to press home the implementation of the memorandum of understanding they entered into with the Federal Government in March 2021.
In a statement on Thursday, Moses Omo-Ikirodah called on both the Federal Government and resident doctors to as a matter of urgency consider the excruciating pains the citizens are passing through especially coming at a time the Nation is faced with the deadly Covid-19 pandemic and plenitudes of other local health challenges like Lassa Fever, acute Malaria, etc.
” No doubt a worker deserves his wages and failure to meet up to agreements and understanding entered into by both parties is quite pitiable and avoidable. I earnestly urge the Federal Government to settle its differences with the National Association of Resident Doctors and immediately find a way of getting back to the negotiation table to bring an end to this unfortunate strike within the next 24hrs.
I want to use this medium to appeal to our resident doctors to please in the name of God go back to the negotiating table and sort out whatever disagreements so Nigerians can have a respite.”
