Queen Mercy Breaks Silence, Drags Ex Over Viral Valentine’s Message
Queen Mercy Atang has stirred widespread reactions online after publicly calling out her former partner over what she described as past attempts to tarnish her image.
According to Ireporter Online, the reality star disclosed in a detailed post on her Instagram page that the same individual who allegedly circulated damaging rumours about her in 2024, shortly after her marriage, has now resurfaced seeking reconciliation. She claimed the man recently contacted her sister in 2026, requesting her contact information with the intention of offering an apology.
In the emotional message, Queen recalled how, at the time of her marriage, false narratives about her were allegedly shared across WhatsApp, Snapchat and Instagram, with even acquaintances and strangers reportedly recruited to malign her name. She expressed disappointment over what she described as a deliberate attempt to discredit her during what should have been a joyful period in her life.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate stated that although she felt deeply hurt and confused by the experience, she chose not to retaliate publicly. Instead, she said she committed the matter to prayer and reached out to individuals close to her former partner, urging them to intervene and put an end to the alleged smear campaign.
However, she expressed surprise that years later, the same individual is reportedly attempting to reconnect. Questioning his motives, she suggested that her current marital status may have prompted the renewed interest, firmly stating that she is not desperate for love.
Queen Mercy Atang married David Oyekanmi in March 2024 in Akwa Ibom State. Late last year, she confirmed that the union had ended, clarifying in response to a fan that she is single and not available.
