Governor Yusuf Receives APC Nomination form

According to Ireporter Online, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have formally procured expression of interest and nomination forms for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, in what party leaders described as a strategic political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The forms were presented to the governor during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday by the immediate past National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. The presentation was widely interpreted as a symbolic adoption of Yusuf as the party’s preferred gubernatorial candidate in the state.

In the same gathering, APC leaders in Kano also declared their endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the upcoming election cycle. The motion supporting Tinubu’s candidature was moved by Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi and unanimously adopted by stakeholders present.

However, party leaders clarified that no automatic tickets would be granted to other aspirants, stressing that nominations for remaining positions would be determined through internal democratic processes, with consensus playing a central role.

While presenting the documents to Governor Yusuf, Ganduje affirmed that the party hierarchy in the state had collectively resolved to back his re-election bid. He further emphasized his political experience while making the symbolic handover of the nomination materials, which include both expression of interest and nomination forms required for participation in the primaries.

Earlier in the meeting, the Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, disclosed that the party had initially intended to purchase nomination forms in support of President Tinubu but was overtaken by other political actors who acted ahead of them.
