EFCC Strikes In Benin: Two Arrested Over ₦143m Fraud
The Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned two men on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, over allegations of fraud totaling ₦143 million.
According to reports, the suspects, Kelvin Usiholo and Osaigbovo Aikoriogie, appeared before Justice B. O. Quadri of the Federal High Court in Benin City. They are facing three counts related to obtaining money under false pretences and money laundering.
Investigations revealed that the money, originally submitted by Usiholo in a petition against Osaigbovo Aikoriogie, was derived from unlawful activities. Both men are allegedly part of a larger network that defrauds individuals, including foreigners, by collecting funds under fraudulent pretences.
Other alleged members of the network remain at large. The EFCC has filed formal charges against Usiholo and Aikoriogie, and the court proceedings will continue as the prosecution presents its evidence.
