Baba Ijesha Denies Allegations: ‘I Am Not A Rap!st, Not A Paedophile

The actor made the claims during an interview on Monday with veteran broadcaster Yinka Ayefele on Fresh FM. He maintained that he was unaware of the severity of the accusations at the time and continued to assert his innocence.

“I am not a paedophile, I am not a rapist. It was destiny that punished me. I did not know the meaning of rapist or paedophile until the controversy arose,” Baba Ijesha said. He added that details of his side of the story would be presented in a forthcoming movie.

Recounting the events leading to his arrest, the actor alleged that he was invited under the guise of a movie role. He stated that on April 21, 2021, actress Damilola Adekoya, also known as Princess, had called him, claiming she was preparing his favorite meal, including pounded yam, crayfish, and egusi soup with bush meat. He claimed he had no knowledge that the meeting would take place at Kirikiri and Panti prisons.

Baba Ijesha alleged that he unknowingly participated in a staged situation involving a minor, stating that he was unaware of any plot against him.
