According to Ireporter Online, Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has clarified that he has no plans to incorporate Western sounds into his music to appeal to international audiences.

Speaking during an interview on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show with Eddie Kadi, Davido reflected on his musical journey, highlighting his global performances and achievements, including multiple Grammy nominations over the past three years.

The ‘OBO’ singer emphasized that he is content with his career accomplishments and is now focusing on producing music that celebrates his African roots. He assured fans that his upcoming projects will remain true to his signature sound. “This part of my career, I have performed everywhere, sold out every arena, I have been to three Grammys in the last three years. The music that is coming next is very Davido, it is very African. We have done it, so I am not really looking to really do Western sounds,” he stated.

Davido also acknowledged the strong support he receives from South African fans, noting that a significant portion of the country’s population is familiar with his music.
