Inter Lagos Clinch NPFL Promotion After Thrilling Smart City Draw

According to reports, Inter Lagos FC has secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the upcoming season following a 1-1 draw with Smart City FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Monday night. The result ensured the club finished first in Conference A of the Nigeria National League (NNL) with 29 points from 15 matches.

With this promotion, Lagos could now have two representatives in the NPFL, joining Ikorodu City FC, which currently competes in the top flight at the same venue. The NNL had earlier confirmed that the winners of the four conferences would advance, and Inter Lagos sealed their promotion with a game to spare, becoming the second side to secure top-flight status this season after Doma United FC. Two more clubs are expected to complete the quartet ahead of next season.

Attention now shifts to the Super 4 play-off in Ikenne, where the four promoted teams will compete for the NNL title following the conclusion of the regular campaign.
