He Can’t Sell Muslims” — Asari Dokubo Slams Kwankwaso, Promises Campaign
According to Ireporter Online, former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has declared his intention to actively campaign against former presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a video circulating on social media, Dokubo accused Kwankwaso of attempting to mislead Muslim voters, alleging that the former Kano State governor was engaging in political manipulation to gain support. He stated that he would mobilise efforts against Kwankwaso and expressed confidence that voters in Kano State would reject him at the polls. Dokubo was quoted as saying he would be at the forefront of campaigning against Kwankwaso in the 2027 elections, insisting that the politician could not “sell Muslims” and predicting that the outcome in Kano would come as a surprise to his supporters.
The development comes amid heightened political realignments following Kwankwaso’s reported exit from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and his alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a move that has intensified opposition activities and early consultations ahead of the 2027 elections. Kwankwaso has yet to publicly respond to the allegations at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, Kwankwaso has continued his political engagement, urging Nigerians both within the country and in the diaspora to actively participate in the 2027 general elections. In a video shared via his official handle, the former Kano State governor called on eligible citizens to complete their voter registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and also register with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing it as part of efforts to strengthen the party ahead of the polls. He further encouraged widespread civic participation as political activities begin to gather momentum across the country.
