According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has returned to full team training with Galatasaray as the club intensifies preparations for Saturday’s Süper Lig encounter against Gençlerbirliği.

The forward had been sidelined since March 18 after sustaining an arm injury during a UEFA Champions League play-off clash against Liverpool before the international break. His recovery has reportedly been fast-tracked as Galatasaray remain locked in a tight title race.

Club images released on Wednesday confirmed Osimhen participating fully in training alongside his teammates, although he was seen wearing a protective bandage. He had previously been restricted to individual and non-contact drills as part of his rehabilitation programme.

The 27-year-old is expected to regain full match fitness ahead of the crucial derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26, though there is also a possibility he could be included in the squad for this weekend’s away fixture against Alanyaspor.

Turkish media reports indicate that Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has already held discussions with Osimhen regarding his gradual reintegration into the squad setup as he continues his recovery process. During the striker’s absence, Galatasaray have struggled for consistency, dropping five points in their last three league matches and managing just one win from that run.

Despite the dip in form, Galatasaray remain top of the Süper Lig table with 68 points, narrowly ahead of Fenerbahçe on 66 points, while Trabzonspor are also in contention with 64 points. Osimhen’s absence has been felt strongly, with the team losing 16 points across the 11 matches he has missed in all competitions this season.

Since joining Galatasaray for €75 million last summer, Osimhen has scored 12 league goals with four assists in 19 appearances, in addition to seven goals in European competitions. He currently sits behind Mauro Icardi in the club’s scoring chart, with Icardi leading on 13 goals from 27 league appearances.
