Wike’s PDP Faction Announces Cost Of Presidential Form, Fixes Date For Primaries

According to Ireporter Online, the faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has unveiled its timetable of activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, outlining key dates and nomination fees for various elective positions.

In a statement issued by the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Umar Bature, the sale of nomination forms for interested aspirants is scheduled to commence on April 27, 2026, and will run until May 4, 2026. The statement further disclosed that the PDP has fixed the cost of its Presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination Form at ₦51 million for the 2027 election cycle.

It added that the presidential primary election will hold between Sunday, May 17 and Monday, May 18, 2026, as part of preparations for the party’s selection process.

For other elective positions, the party set the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form fees at ₦3 million for the House of Assembly, ₦4 million for the House of Representatives, ₦6 million for the Senate, and ₦21 million for the governorship race. However, the statement noted that female aspirants will only be required to pay the Expression of Interest fees for their respective offices.

Bature explained that the schedule aligns with provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the 2026 Electoral Act, and the revised timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2027 general elections.
