Neymar Included In Brazil Squad As Ancelotti Releases 26-Man World Cup Roster
Brazil have officially recalled superstar forward Neymar to their World Cup squad after almost two years away from international duty, as head coach Carlo Ancelotti unveiled a 26-man roster in Rio de Janeiro ahead of the global tournament. According to Ireporter Online, the announcement sparked loud celebrations from fans as Neymar’s name was confirmed, marking his return to international football at the age of 34 after persistent injury setbacks that had kept him out since 2023. The Santos FC forward, Brazil’s all-time leading scorer with 79 goals in 128 appearances, is set to feature in his fourth World Cup after being declared fit following a strong run of form and improved fitness in recent months, as explained by Ancelotti.
The squad also sees the return of goalkeeper Alisson Becker despite recent injury concerns, alongside key figures such as Casemiro, Vinícius Júnior, and Raphinha, while young forward Endrick also makes the list as part of Brazil’s attacking options. However, there was disappointment for some players, including João Pedro, who missed out despite a strong club season. Brazil, five-time world champions, will begin their campaign in Group C against Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland as they chase another global title.
