APC Generates ₦4.45 Billion From Sale Of Nomination Forms

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly generated over ₦4.45 billion from the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Ireporter Online, the ruling party recorded the revenue from the purchase of nomination documents by two presidential aspirants, over 83 governorship hopefuls across 28 states, as well as candidates vying for National Assembly and state House of Assembly positions.

The party is said to have earned ₦200 million from presidential nomination forms sold to President Bola Tinubu and Stanley Osifo. Governorship nomination forms were pegged at ₦50 million, Senate forms at ₦20 million, while House of Representatives forms went for ₦10 million each.

The development is seen as a major financial boost for the APC ahead of the polls, even as opposition parties continue to grapple with internal divisions and efforts to build a unified front.

Meanwhile, tensions within the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) appeared to escalate before being contained on Friday, following a vote of confidence in its chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma. Eighteen APC governors reportedly backed Uzodimma after reports of an alleged attempt to replace him with Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, and factional alignments within the forum.

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, while addressing journalists after a closed-door meeting in Abuja, moved a motion affirming confidence in the leadership of Uzodimma and his deputy, Uba Sani. Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, dismissed claims of disunity, insisting the governors remain united in support of President Bola Tinubu and the APC.

Uzodimma also refuted speculations of division, stating that the forum remains focused on strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 elections and delivering on governance priorities.

In a related development, the APC has commenced screening of governorship, Senate, and House of Representatives aspirants ahead of its primaries. The party scheduled its House of Representatives primaries for May 15, Senate primaries for May 18, and governorship primaries for May 21, 2026.

Two screening committees were constituted for the exercise. One, chaired by APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, is responsible for screening incumbent governors seeking re-election, while the second committee, led by Dr. Ben Nwoye with Emeka Offor as secretary, will handle other governorship aspirants.

The screening of incumbent governors is taking place at the Plateau Governors’ Lodge in Abuja, while other aspirants are being assessed separately as the party intensifies preparations for its internal elections.
