The Peoples Democratic Party has announced another adjustment to its timetable for pre-nomination activities ahead of the party primaries for the 2027 general elections. The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday and jointly signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, and National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Dakas Shan.

According to reports, the latest amendment was approved following growing appeals and requests from aspirants and stakeholders seeking additional time to complete necessary processes ahead of the primaries. The party, however, stressed that the newly announced timetable remains the final adjustment, citing the need to align with the schedule already released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Under the revised schedule, May 22, 2026, has been fixed as the deadline for the submission of completed nomination forms, while a special screening exercise for aspirants yet to be screened will hold on May 23, 2026. The party also scheduled screening appeals and the publication of cleared aspirants between May 25 and May 27, 2026, with primaries for all elective offices slated for May 28, 2026.

The PDP urged all members and aspirants to strictly adhere to the updated timetable, emphasizing that no further extension would be granted due to the urgency of meeting the electoral commission’s timetable for the 2027 elections.
