Breaking: Withheld UTME Results Released By JAMB, See 2 Easy Ways To Check

The board confirmed the development in a statement issued on Thursday by its Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, noting that the newly released results are in addition to those earlier cleared and published by the examination body.

Dr Benjamin explained that the decision followed ongoing investigations into alleged malpractice cases recorded during the conduct of the UTME. He stated that after thorough review, the board found no prima facie evidence linking the affected 279 candidates to any form of examination malpractice, leading to the release of their results.

However, he disclosed that some other candidates’ results were cancelled after investigations confirmed their involvement in malpractice. He added that JAMB will continue its scrutiny of all flagged cases and will not hesitate to apply appropriate sanctions where violations are established.

According to him, results from examination centres flagged by JAMB’s live monitoring system for suspicious activities remain withheld pending the conclusion of investigations. He also noted that centres linked to adverse reports during the examination exercise are still under review.

The board maintained that results will only be released once all necessary checks are completed and candidates or centres are fully cleared of wrongdoing. It further warned that any candidate found culpable at the end of ongoing investigations will have their results cancelled.

Candidates yet to access their results were advised to check their status by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used during registration.

Meanwhile, in a related development, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of JAMB. He is expected to succeed Professor Is-haq Oloyede when his tenure ends on July 31, 2026.

The announcement was confirmed in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who noted that the President expects the incoming registrar to leverage his experience in strengthening the examination body and advancing its digital and institutional reforms.

Professor Aina, a systems expert with extensive background in examination management and public-sector reform, is expected to bring fresh perspective to the organisation as it continues its mandate of maintaining the integrity of Nigeria’s tertiary admission process.
