According to IReporter Online, a post on X has sparked widespread reactions after a user recounted how a simple date experience led him into unexpected financial strain, including taking an online loan.
The user, identified as @Maazijnr, disclosed that he had carefully planned a budget for a first date with a lady he was meeting for the first time. However, what began as a well-calculated outing reportedly took an unexpected turn after the woman smiled, an moment he described as emotionally overwhelming enough to alter his spending decisions.
He explained that the situation escalated beyond his initial financial plan, eventually forcing him to borrow money from the digital lending platform Opay to complete payments incurred during the outing.
“Before the night ended, I was borrowing from Opay just to complete payment. Thought I was man enough until she smiled, that smile changed the entire budget,” he wrote.
