Aisha Discloses Former President Buhari’s Most Significant Legacy

Former First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has said that the most enduring legacy of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari was his strong commitment to education and human capital development.

According to Ireporter Online, she made the statement on Sunday during the groundbreaking ceremony of a new Computer Science Complex at Al-Qalam University, Katsina. The project is being funded through proceeds from the book “From Soldier to Statesman: The Legacy of Muhammadu Buhari,” which documents the life and public service of the late Nigerian leader.

Aisha Buhari explained that the initiative represents a deliberate effort by the family to preserve Buhari’s legacy through investment in knowledge and innovation rather than physical monuments. She described the development as the beginning of a vision aimed at equipping future generations with the skills required to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.

She further noted that the Computer Science Complex would stand as a lasting symbol of the former president’s values, which she said were defined by duty, discipline, integrity, and dedication to national development. According to her, channeling the proceeds of the legacy book into an educational project reflects the belief that the most meaningful memorial is one that builds knowledge, character, and opportunity for future generations.

Aisha Buhari also emphasized the growing importance of technology in global development, stating that countries investing in fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software engineering, and digital innovation would be better positioned for the future. She expressed hope that the new facility would inspire excellence among students and produce graduates who combine integrity with intelligence to contribute to the development of Katsina State, Nigeria, and the African continent.
