Osun Election: APC National Secretary Basiru Wins Polling Unit For Oyebamiji

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has secured a decisive victory at the polling unit of the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, in the ongoing 2026 governorship election.

According to Ireporter Online, Oyebamiji polled 177 votes at Ward 7, Unit 3, Ibokun Road 2, Osogbo, where Basiru and his wife, Abibat, cast their ballots earlier in the day.

The APC candidate defeated incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, who recorded 60 votes at the polling unit. African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Najeem Salaam scored three votes, while candidates of the Action Alliance (AA), Young Progressives Party (YPP) and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) each secured one vote.

Following the exercise, Basiru commended security agencies for maintaining what he described as a peaceful and orderly environment at polling centres across the state.

The APC National Secretary also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely deployment of election officials and sensitive materials ahead of voting.

Basiru expressed optimism that the APC would emerge victorious in the governorship contest as the collation of results continues across Osun State.
