He Has Not Seen Food To Eat” – Ibiyeomie Explains Why ‘Hell Message’ No Longer Works

Founder and Presiding Pastor of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has urged Christians to adopt messages centred on love, compassion and hope when reaching out to Nigerians, arguing that the country’s economic hardship has made fear-based messages about hell less effective.

According to Ireporter Online, the clergyman made the remarks while speaking to members of his congregation, where he explained that many Nigerians are already dealing with severe financial difficulties.

Ibiyeomie noted that people facing challenges such as difficulty affording food and other basic necessities may not respond positively to messages that focus primarily on the fear of hell.

He encouraged Christians to instead communicate the love of God and the possibility of transformation through faith in Jesus Christ.

The pastor explained that telling struggling Nigerians that they would go to hell if they failed to accept Christ might not effectively connect with people who already feel overwhelmed by their present circumstances.

According to him, compassion should be at the heart of evangelism because it allows Christians to demonstrate genuine concern for people regardless of the challenges they are facing.

Ibiyeomie stressed that Christians should reassure people that Jesus loves them and that God is capable of showing mercy and changing their circumstances.

He described compassion as one of the most effective ways of drawing people closer to Christ, noting that genuine concern must come from the heart.

The Salvation Ministries founder further said God himself is compassionate and encouraged Christians to demonstrate the same quality in their interactions with others.

He referenced Psalm 103:8, which describes the Lord as compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and rich in love.

Ibiyeomie added that God does not judge people solely by their past mistakes and failures, urging those who have experienced divine compassion to extend similar kindness and forgiveness to others.

Citing Ephesians 4:32, he encouraged Christians to be kind, compassionate and forgiving, following the example of Christ.

The cleric emphasized that compassion goes beyond simply feeling pity for another person, describing it as a powerful expression of God’s nature and an important tool for reaching people with the Christian message.
