Over the weekend, at a socio-political gathering in Oluku, Ovia North-East, Edo State, the Edo state PDP brouhaha and the implications of the Supreme Court decision were brought up for discussion, only for the audience to burst into uncontrollable laughter.

Osaro, a middle-aged man, raised the issue of how the Supreme Court’s decision on the rightful PDP candidates for the Edo State National Assembly and House of Assembly elections might affect the chances of the APC lawmaker representing Ovia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon Dennis Idahosa’s reelection bid.

The gathering’s response was a one-way ticket, they were like “WETIN CONCERN FOWL CONCERN TOOTHBRUSH” we are talking about good governance you are here mentioning PDP?

Without paying attention to the topic of conversation he was about to introduce, a female respondent gave Osaro a prompt response.

“This general election in 2023 is all about your track record and competence; what have you done for the people that makes you want to represent them?

What contribution have you made to the development of your community that qualifies you to serve the people?

Please do not mention PDP again, Dennis Idahosa took over from Omosede, who is PDP, and we know the difference, today Ovia is on the world map for positive development, and here you call PDP, please as far as Ovia Federal Constituency is concerned, Dennis Idahosa remains the chosen candidate.”

The next speaker snuffed it out, and that was the end of the PDP matter in the eyes of the assembled. He Said…

“Dennis Face Dey Show, Him Shoe Dey Shine, Na Him We Sabi. In less than four years, Dennis has built schools, and bridges, brought electricity to neighbourhoods and established a federal presence in our community, and you come here to bother us about the PDP crisis?”

Indeed, the electoral campaigns would be exciting and dramatic.
