113 Foreign Nationals Arraigned In Abuja For Cybercrime And Immigration Offences

The Nigeria Police Force has arraigned 113 foreign nationals before the Federal High Court in Abuja on charges related to cybercrime, including computer fraud, marketing scams, money laundering, and unauthorized data access…RAED MORE..

The arrests, announced on Monday via a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, were made during a November 3, 2024, operation in Jahi, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory. The operation was carried out by the National Cyber Crime Centre in collaboration with Zone 7 Command.

Police recovered various high-tech devices allegedly used in cybercriminal activities, including laptops, smartphones, tablets, routers, high-capacity servers, drones, gaming devices, and central processing units. Additional seized items included multiple SIM cards, international passports, travel documents, a Black Toyota Tundra vehicle, and a Harman/Kardon sound system.

“These assets are suspected to have facilitated a range of cybercrime activities, such as unauthorized data breaches and marketing scams,” Adejobi stated. “The sophistication of this operation highlights the growing global threat posed by cross-border cybercriminal syndicates.”

The case underscores the increasing focus of law enforcement on tackling sophisticated cybercrime networks and their impact on national and global security.
