2026 Countdown Begins: Fayose Applauds Peaceful PDP Congress, Declares Total Readiness!

Emmanuel Fayose, a governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, has praised the successful conduct of the party’s local government congress across all 16 councils in the state.

In a statement issued on Monday in Ado-Ekiti, Fayose described the exercise as highly successful and peaceful, reflecting the PDP’s readiness to reclaim power in the 2026 governorship election. He applauded the large turnout and composure of party members and delegates, despite alleged attempts by opposition forces to derail the congress using court injunctions.

Fayose emphasized that the firm resolve displayed by stakeholders underscored a renewed determination to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He also alleged that the legal efforts to hinder the congress were orchestrated by political opponents concerned about his surging popularity and the strength of his campaign.

“The impressive participation and orderly coordination of the congress statewide have delivered a bold statement not just to internal detractors but also to the APC-led administration,” Fayose remarked.

He highlighted the smooth execution of the congress as evidence of growing unity among PDP leaders in Ekiti, stating, “The seamless process confirms that party leaders are now united and committed to liberating the people from the failings of the ruling APC.”

Fayose concluded by asserting that the expanding grassroots support for his candidacy and the success of the congress had unsettled the APC, suggesting he is emerging as a top contender for the PDP ticket.

“With the people of Ekiti prepared, the party standing united, and momentum on our side, the era of true leadership is approaching,” he declared.
