In a Facebook post, Ugwuonye commended 2Baba for openly announcing his separation from Annie and his decision to proceed with a legal divorce before moving forward with Natasha.

According to Ugwuonye, 2Baba’s approach reflects an understanding that he must finalize his divorce from Annie before remarrying. He also pointed out that the singer did not attempt to justify his actions using African traditions or polygamy, a remark some believe was a subtle dig at Yul Edochie, the estranged husband of his client, May.

His post read:

We acknowledge that a married man may fall out of love with his wife and develop feelings for another woman. However, under Nigeria’s Marriage Act, he must first divorce his current wife before marrying someone else.

2Face appears to be following the correct legal process. He publicly announced his separation from Annie and confirmed that he has filed for divorce. Unlike some, he is not seeking to justify polygamy but is adhering to the legal requirements. In this regard, he has acted responsibly.

We hope that his divorce proceedings will be finalized legally and, after that, we wish him and Natasha a happy marriage.”
