According to Ireporter Online, Indonesian authorities have detained two French nationals and an Italian on allegations of producing and distributing pornography, a serious offense in the country. The arrests took place on the resort island of Bali, where the trio—a woman and two men—are suspected of attempting to profit from pornographic videos and content, police chief Joseph Edward Purba of the Badung district stated.

The suspects face up to 10 years in prison for pornography production and an additional six years for online distribution. Bali, predominantly Hindu, is a major tourist destination, but Indonesia’s strict laws, rooted in its Muslim-majority population, prohibit the creation of pornographic material.

Authorities said the investigation was prompted by a viral video containing explicit content circulating on social media. Last Friday, immigration officials apprehended the Frenchwoman, described as a content creator, and the Italian as they tried to leave Bali for Thailand. The Frenchman, reportedly the woman’s manager, was arrested days later in Badung.

Balinese officials have increasingly raised concerns about inappropriate conduct by foreign tourists, including prior deportations of Russian influencers who posed naked at sacred sites. Last year, British adult film star Bonnie Blue was deported from Bali following a minor traffic violation linked to a broader pornography investigation.
