In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, the Governor labeled the aforementioned reports as false and urged the public to disregard them.

The statement, as reported by Vanguard, stated: “The Abia State Government has become aware of a fabricated report circulating on social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), alleging that the Governor initiated legal proceedings against the Nigerian Government and President Bola Tinubu at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

“The fake news falsely asserts that Governor Otti sued the Federal Republic of Nigeria and President Tinubu for purportedly refusing to approve the Abia Governor’s request to establish a seaport and an international airport in Abia.

“Furthermore, the concocted report claims that Governor Otti imposed a ban on businesses operated by individuals of northern descent residing in Abia State until approval for the establishment of the aforementioned seaport and international airport is granted.

“This is entirely unfounded. While plans for the proposed seaport are still in the preliminary stages, the Federal Government has already allocated funds for an airstrip in Abia as per the current budget, for which we express our gratitude.

“The public is therefore urged to disregard this baseless report, recognizing it for what it is – misinformation, and consign it to oblivion. It is the product of idle troublemakers seeking to stir controversy.”
