Award-winning Nollywood actress Toyin Alausa has emphasized that acting goes far beyond simply memorizing lines. In an Instagram post, the movie star explained that true acting involves fully surrendering to the moment and blending emotional depth with technical skill to bring characters to life.

Toyin highlighted that emotional scenes, such as crying on screen, are not spontaneous but the result of vulnerability, discipline, and years of dedicated practice. She stated, “Acting is not just about memorizing lines; it’s about immersing yourself in the moment, training your emotions and skills until they become one. To make an audience feel, you must first allow yourself to feel deeply. Every crying scene you see on screen requires discipline, vulnerability, and countless hours of perfecting the craft. This is why we say acting is lived, not faked.”

Meanwhile, veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has praised the pioneers of the Nigerian movie industry for their immense contributions. In an Instagram post on Monday, September 1, 2025, Kanayo reflected on the struggles faced by early filmmakers, noting that the industry was built through their dedication, sweat, and sacrifices.
