Adeleke Has Failed, He Can Be Defeated – APC Fires Warning Ahead Of Osun Poll
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence that it can unseat Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke in Saturday’s governorship election, with the party describing the incumbent’s performance as disappointing.
According to Ireporter Online, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the remarks on Wednesday during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme.
Morka said the party was optimistic about its chances of defeating Adeleke, claiming that the APC had received considerable support from voters across the state.
He, however, maintained that the ultimate decision would rest with the electorate and that the result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would determine the winner.
The APC spokesman criticised Adeleke’s administration, particularly its handling of the health and education sectors, which he alleged had suffered under the governor’s leadership.
Morka argued that the governor’s record in office would influence voters when they head to the polls.
He said the APC was confident that residents would assess the performance of the current administration before deciding whether to retain Adeleke or elect a new governor.
Morka also expressed confidence in INEC’s preparedness to conduct the election in line with the law, urging residents to come out and exercise their franchise despite concerns over possible violence.
He called on voters to ensure that their ballots determine who governs Osun State for the next four years.
The APC is seeking to wrest power from Adeleke, who is seeking another term in office on the platform of the Accord Party.
