AEDC Worker Electrocuted During Repairs in Abuja

A tragic incident occurred on Thursday, May 29, as Mustapha Isa, a staff member of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), was electrocuted while working on a power fault in the Mabushi area of Abuja.

Isa was performing repairs on top of an electric pole around 5:50 p.m. when he suffered an electric shock, which caused him to fall and sustain a fatal head injury.

He was rushed to the Gwarinpa General Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. His body was later transferred to the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, for an autopsy.

In a statement, the AEDC management described the death as “a deeply regrettable tragedy” and extended condolences to the bereaved family. The company also pledged to enhance safety training and procedures to avoid such occurrences in the future.
