Aminu Tambuwal, the former Governor of Sokoto State, responded to accusations made by former Governor Ayo Fayose. Fayose accused Tambuwal of betrayal and even prayed for him to lose his senatorial election. However, Tambuwal dismissed these accusations, saying he didn’t take Fayose’s words seriously.

Tambuwal highlighted that despite Fayose’s plea to the people of Sokoto State not to vote for him, he won the election. “You think I will take what Fayose said seriously? Even the people of Sokoto state that he appealed to not to vote for me didn’t take him seriously. They voted for me and I won. I am in the Senate, where is Ayo Fayose?” Tambuwal said.

Addressing the issue of election rigging, Tambuwal mentioned that rigging usually happens in areas where the perpetrators are strong. He claimed that those who tried to rig against him were not strong enough to succeed.

With these remarks, Tambuwal confidently dismissed Fayose’s accusations and celebrated his victory in the senatorial election, underscoring the support he received from the people of Sokoto State.
